TexCycle’s First Steps

Starting with individuals who care about environmental issues, employees of PT Mitra Saruta Indonesia donate their unused clothing for recycling to support the TexCycle program. Beyond reducing unused garments in their homes and preventing them from ending up in landfills, this initiative also allows those working within the textile industry to set an example for the broader community—showing that unwanted clothing can be repurposed into new, functional products through the right processes.

A variety of garments were collected—from children’s clothing to adult apparel and other everyday textile products. This demonstrates that unused clothing is not merely worthless waste, but valuable material with significant potential when properly managed. By giving these items a second life, we can help reduce the volume of textile waste that often ends up in landfills.
