Collaboration with Singapore Intercultural School (SIS) Surabaya

In expanding the scope of TexCycle to instill environmental awareness, collaboration with schools that have programs and curricula related to environmental issues is currently being carried out in order to collaborate.

SIS Surabaya was chosen because currently there are several students who are conducting research on textile waste which is starting to end up in the sea. TexCycle and SIS Surabaya strive to apply the knowledge being studied by students so that it can be implemented in real terms.

SIS Surabaya students shared information about TexCycle by presenting it to other students and teachers to find out the importance of caring for the environment and that it can now be done on a small to large scale. Through TexCycle, collection and processing of textile waste can not only be done through social institutions but can be done on an industrial scale.

By providing real evidence to companies that have managed waste as raw materials to become new functional products that can still be used every day. SIS Surabaya students explained the benefits of recycling post-consumer textile waste if they can utilize the waste to reduce dependence on natural materials thereby saving energy during the production process.
